Join us for a fresh, wholesome, hearty meal and a glass of whatever takes your fancy. Make yourselves comfortable in the newly refurbished restaurant and experience everything The Hearty Hedgehog has to offer. All our food is locally sourced, freshly prepared, and cooked to order. With a variety of impressive dishes, there is something for everyone and you’ll be leaving with a smile on your face.

We are open 7 days a week from 11am until late. Food is served from 12 noon until 9.00pm Monday to Saturday and 12 noon until 8.00pm on Sunday.

Our Food

The menu includes tasty dishes such as Durham braised lamb shank, classic hearty stroganoff, steak and brown ale pie, wild mushroom tart and the dining experience ‘steak on the stone’ where your steak is served sizzling hot ‘on the stone’ to your table for you to finish cooking to your liking, as well as homemade desserts and fine wines.
